FOE Impact Dinner: A Spotlight on Human Trafficking

Family Office Experiences (“FOE”) is convening a group of international families in Orange County during their FOE West | The Future of Family Office Experience from October 10 - 13, 2019 at Pelican Hill Resort & Spa. During this Experience FOE are hosting the FOE Impact Gala Dinner, which will shine A Spotlight on Human Trafficking at the Newport Beach Country Club on Friday October 11, 2019.

The Gala Dinner will bring together some of the world’s most influential people to learn about the global epidemic of child trafficking, and how each of us can take-action to change the future for those at risk. The United States was ranked one of the world's worst places for human trafficking in 2018. Anyone’s child can be trafficked regardless of class, education or gender when forcefully coerced or lured by false promises.

The evening will bring awareness to the Global Anti-Trafficking Auction being spearheaded by Mitzi Perdue and The Child Liberation Foundation being highlighted by Tim Ballard. Mitzi is the wife of Mr. Frank Perdue and the daughter of the founder of the Sheraton Hotels. Timothy Ballard has spent over a decade working as a Special Agent for the Department of Homeland Security  infiltrating child trafficking organizations.

A Spotlight on Human Trafficking

The United States, along with Mexico and the Philippines, was ranked one of the world's worst places for human trafficking in 2018. In the US, there is no official number of human trafficking victims, but estimates place it in the hundreds of thousands. The most human trafficking cases have been reported in California, Texas, and Florida.  Orange County is a prime destination for trafficking. Perpetrators know they can sell their victims for sex acts at a higher price than anywhere else in California. Anyone’s child can be trafficked regardless of class, education or gender when forcefully coerced or lured by false promises.

It's estimated that globally there are between 20 million and 40 million people in modern slavery today.
